I don't know if I am hallucinating or not but I think I just heard The Pulse use the moniker "2000-Today" and it sounds like most of the 90s music has been dropped from the playlist, with the exception of a few 1999 tracks.

So now we have another Pop 2k, without the hype? Or is this supposed to make up for Sirius not having Pop 2k on their service?

I'm listening to Pop2K on my ipod. There's 3 differences

1. Pop2K plays pop/rhythm while The Pulse is modern AC

2. Pop2K is only on the XM satellites, although on a Sirius reciever you tune to channel 39 and it displays it as "Pop2K"

3. Pop2K's stream makes a lot of "pop" noises, literally.

LOL. What does that have to do with the programming on the channel? Sirius has not sent out any receiver updates to change the channel names and who knows about the "pop" noises... maybe they want "pop" noises to represent Pop2K??

Pop2k takes where 90s on 9 leaves off, so you'll hear hits from late 1999 all the way to 2009. You hear pop rock, teen pop, rhythmic, hip-hop, R&B, some country pop, some dance hits -- all the 2000s hits that define the first decade of the new millennium.

The Pulse is just your typical modern AC format channel. It's nothing like Pop2k.
